Serbia fest award goes to Iran animation

Iranian animated piece ‘The Servant’ has grabbed Best Animation Film Award at Serbia’s Film Front festival.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the flick has been so far screened at over 100 international festivals and won 20 awards.

It depicts the familiar story of a master and his servant, the story of a writer’s encounter with a gigantic insect: a cockroach.

The animation won the ‘Best Animation Award’ at the 15th edition of International Short Film Festival – Film Front in Serbia.

Launched  in 2003, the 2017 Film Front festival is slated to be held October 26-28 in Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia.

Film Front is an international festival of short films, and its goal is to promote young filmmakers and independent productions. 

‘The Servant’ was also nominated for the Best Animation award at the 6th Wasteland Film Festival, 2017 in California, US.
